Kadha has been a part of every Indian home and every family has its own version of Kadhaa. Almost all the ingredients used in making Kadha are regular kitchen ingredients that are already present in your kitchen.
Ministry of Ayush has encouraged the consumption of Kadha in its guidelines published for boosting immunity.
We will be using the ingredients suggested by Ayush Mantralaya along with a few more ingredients. This is the recipe of kadha that we are following to make kaadha at home for almost 4 months now.
Holy basil
Tulsi has Vitamin C and Zinc, both are helpful in boosting immunity.
Ginger

Jaggery is optional in this recipe. I have noticed that adding jaggery to Kadha makes it more soothing to the pallet.
How To Make Kadha At Home: Kaadha Recipe
Take 500 ml. of water and add the herbs, spices, and Jaggery to it.
Keep keep in high flame to bring it to boiling temperature
Reduce the flame to the lowest, cover the pan and let it simmer for at least 20 minutes.
Strain and serve the kadha.
Recipe For Making Kadha
Kadha Recipe for Boosting Immunity : Herbs and Spices Indian Drink
Ingredients
- Water 500 ml
- Holy Basil (Tulsi) 5-6 Leaves
- Ginger Shredded 1-2 tsp
- Turmeric Root Slice (1-2 inch) 2
- Black pepper Corns- 8-10
- Cloves -5
- Cinnamon stick 2"
- Green Cardamom : 3
- Jaggery 2 tsp
Instructions
- Take 500 ml of water in a pan
- Add the herbs and spices
- Bring to boil in high medium flame
- Cover the pan and simmer the Kadha for atleast 20 minutes
- Check after 20 minutes, the decoction must have reduced in quantity now.
- The color of the decoction will also be darkened.
- Strain and serve
- Add 3-4 drops of Lemon juice (fresh) and enjoy the sips of your Kadha.
